Pike Fishing on the Takhini River

Anthony and his buddy Andrew took off for some fishing on the Kathleen and ended up catching Pike on the Takhini. Just shows you the fishing opportunities abound in the Yukon. Anthony provides a link on his blog to the fishing story, complete with photos. Make sure you click through to Andrew's site for some great accompanying photos.

Both of these guys have skookum Yukon blog's that are updated regularly, "Memo from the North of 60 Desk" and "A Stark Place".

A big thanks as well for the first fishing report not coming from me...I was starting to feel a bit lonely. When I get my contest going for some Fish on Yukon merchandise, I'll enter your names.

Hey Dennis - enjoyed the piece in "What's Up Yukon" and got turned on to your blog from that. I'm living in Whitehorse through Sept, and an avid fly fisher/tyer. I've been chronicling my trip up to Whitehorse, and summer experiences here in the north on the chat board of The Drake mag:

Looking forward to your new website!

cheers,

Bruce

Hi Bruce:

Thanks for the post and the lead on "the Drake". They seem to be doing some maintenance so I can't get in right now but I'll check it out. Where do you expect you will be fishing while in Yukon? I can suggest a few lakes around Whitehorse if interested in some stocked rainbow. Tight lines!

Hey Bruce:

I forgot to mention I'll enter you in my contest once I get some merchandise together.

Thanks Dennis

Hey -

Tried getting your e-mail and it wasn't popping up for some reason. If you click my profile you should be able to see mine.

So far, I've been out to Jackson lake for a couple of fun and productive evenings, the mouth of Wolf Creek, Snafu Lake, and a couple sections of the Yukon (we live about a 5-minute walk from the river upstream of Wolf). But any other recs would be great. Looking to get into some pike, and salmon later on in the season in particular if you want to team up.

tight lines,

Bruce

Pike, I highly recommend Little Atlin Lake. If you put in at the boat launch and head north you get into some great weedbeds loaded with them. You could canoe or boat, be a bit of a jaunt with a belly boat. Impressed by your outings already. Keep me posted.
